THYSSENKRUPP MOVING WALKS, PBBs FOR SPANISH AIRPORTS
Thyssenkrupp is installing 22 moving walks, including two more than 95 m long, at Palma de Mallorca Airport on the island of Mallorca, Spain, for airport operator Aena. The installations are part of a larger scope of work at a trio of airports in Mallorca, Madrid and Barcelona. At Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, 42 passenger boarding bridges (PBBs) were installed starting in December 2018, 122 PBBs are being maintained and 10 are being refurbished. Starting in June, installation of 34 PBBs began at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona - El Prat. thyssenkrupp Elevator CEO Peter Walker states that enhancing passenger efficiency at the busy, tourist-destination airports is “an honor and a commitment” for the company.
